Diversity Visa "Green Card" Lottery Results available

Winners of the DV-2011 lottery for visas to the U.S. should have
received notification by mail between May and July 2010. Lottery
entrants selected are provided with further instructions on how to
proceed, including information on fees. Notification is not sent by
email.

Individuals who are not selected do not receive any notification;
however, anyone who completed their entry through the official website
can check the status of their application at www.dvlottery.state.gov
using the confirmation number they received at the time of their online
application.

The next lottery is scheduled to open for applications in early
October 2010. Anyone interested in applying is advised to check the
U.S.Department of State website for updates at http://travel.state.gov

Application is online only and there is no fee to apply.


Every year the US Department of State hosts the Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery.

The Congressionally mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes available 50,000 diversity visas (DV) annually, drawn from random selection among all entries to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements from countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S.

The DV Lottery, or Green Card Lottery as it is more commonly known, is open to Irish citizens. Electronic submissions are completed online and are usually open from early October to late November each year.
